HUNTSVILLE — A driver was killed Sunday afternoon when a truck crashed on Trappers Loop Highway, the Utah Highway Patrol said.

The Dodge pickup, towing a trailer, was southbound on the highway when the truck veered off the right side of the road and the driver tried to turn back onto the pavement, the UHP said in a news release. The truck and trailer overturned, the pickup landing on its top.

The driver was dead after the crash and a passenger was not injured, the UHP said.

The crash occurred at 12:37 p.m. at milepost 6, just south of Snow Basin Road between Huntsville and Mountain Green, according to the Utah Department of Transportation. The road was closed for crash cleanup and investigation until about 5:20 p.m.
