The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) named Peter Anastor, Director, Office of Rail; R.J. Corman Railroad Services LLC promoted Mark Boyle to Vice President, succeeding Rick Johnson, who transitions to Advisor; and Transit Wireless hired Kristin Steiner as Head of Strategic Partnerships and Sales.

MDOT

Anastor is joining the Office of Rail on Jan. 25. He will be responsible for intercity passenger rail operations, grade crossing funding programs, rail grade separation, safety oversight of light rail systems, state-owned rail line management, rail-related economic development programs, and international border crossings.

Anastor served most recently at the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD), where he assisted food and agriculture companies with growth, included transportation work. He has more than 25 years of state service, holding positions at the State Budget Office, Michigan Economic Development Corp., and Logistics and Supply Chain Commission. At the Commission, he worked with infrastructure partners, including Class I and short line railroads, on economic development.

R.J. Corman Railroad Services

Boyle is now responsible for R.J. Corman’s non-emergency division operations, including track construction, maintenance of way and industrial services. He joined the company in 2008 and served most recently as AVP, Project Management for Railroad Services.

“We are excited to promote Mark into this role,” R.J. Corman Railroad Group President and CEO Ed Quinn said. “He has exhibited strong leadership and the same commitment to excellence that our customers have grown accustomed to. Over the last 15 years, Rick [Johnson] has worked to build an accomplished team that has consistently delivered high-quality work to the railroad industry, and we are extremely grateful for all he has done. Mark is highly capable and well-equipped to build on the company’s success going forward and to lead our accomplished team of employees.”

Transit Wireless

Steiner will drive sales strategy at Transit Wireless, a BAI Communications and 5G wireless infrastructure company, to help facilitate buildouts and expand public-private partnerships across transit and large commercial venues nationwide.

She served previously as Vice President of Business Development for Boingo. With more than 20 years of wireless sales leadership experience, she has also held positions at Crown Castle and Mobilitie.

“Kristin keeps the customer at the forefront and brings a success-based track record in leading sales across transit and venue infrastructure, including carrier partnerships,” CEO Melinda White said. “I am confident she will drive long-term value for our partners.”
